Initially developed to support adequate bone mineral support for men with prostate cancer using androgen deprivation therapy (ADT), Prosteon® is a product now commonly used by any adult at risk for osteopenia or osteoporosis (bone thinning). Prosteon® contains boron, vitamin D, vitamin K, calcium, and magnesium. The critical role of vitamin D and calcium in bone health is widely known, but the important role of Boron is less appreciated. Some published academic opinions suggest that boron is important not only for bone health, but boron may also be important also for osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease). More studies are indicated.
